Jennifer-Mae Andrus (Jenn), M.A., M.A., C. Psych. is the founder and Clinical Director of Psychwell Health Services. She is a Registered Adult Clinical Psychologist in Ontario. She has nearly 20 years of experience working in different settings. She has worked in community mental health, corrections, forensic psychiatry, addictions, physical and occupational rehabilitation, private practice, and police recruitment. Jenn has significant experience as an educator, leader/manager, and clinical supervisor.
Jenn believes in using evidence-based practice to address client concerns. This means that she uses therapies that work. Her practice is also collaborative, holistic, and person-centred. You won't want to share if you don’t feel heard and understood. If you don’t understand the “what and why” of an assessment or treatment, you probably won't want to do it or give your best effort.
Jenn’s warm but direct approach will leave you understanding and feeling understood. She loves to use analogies and metaphors. She also likes to use drawings, memes, and YouTube clips to enhance your understanding. She wants to make sure that you understand your diagnosis and treatment plan. Because understanding your mental health is at the heart of healing and finding the best version of you.
Jenn is passionate and experienced in working with those who have experienced trauma. In particular, she loves working with first responders, and those with a complex trauma history (i.e., borderline personality disorder or BPD, obsessive-compulsive disorder or OCD, substance use or other addictive behaviours).
Jenn has significant training and experience in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and DBT. She also has a personal and professional interest in mindfulness. She often incorporates mindfulness into treatment. She has training in mindful self-compassion and mindfulness-based stress education. She also regularly practices mindfulness and meditation in her personal life.
When Jenn is not providing clinical service, she spends time with her family, outdoors, or eating something with cheese. You can find her at a concert with family and friends, or catching up on her TV watch list (or watching Frozen, again).

As a registered psychotherapist with over 15 years of experience, I am passionate about supporting individuals on their journey to healing and growth. My career has been deeply rooted in the field of occupational rehabilitation, where I’ve helped clients navigate the mental health challenges that often arise after an injury.
I specialize in working with trauma-exposed individuals, including military veterans, first responders, and others facing the unique demands of high-stress environments. Whether it’s anxiety disorders, depression, PTSD, social insecurity, relational challenges, or substance misuse, I bring a compassionate and personalized approach to every client.
In my practice, I work with both individuals and groups, creating safe spaces where people feel heard, understood, and supported. I also have extensive experience with the LGBTQ+ community, understanding the importance of affirming care that respects each person’s identity and experiences.
Whether you’re seeking support for stress management, sleep issues, or navigating complex emotions, my goal is to provide a warm and nonjudgmental environment to help you regain balance and resilience. Together, we can work toward greater well-being and a more fulfilling life.
